Receipt thermal paper is a type of specialty paper which is manufactured by the application of special heat-sensitive chemical materials to a paper base without the use of traditional ink. These thermal printed paper rolls are used in thermal printers, adding machines, cash registers, and credit card terminals.

It contains four layers including a protective top layer to prevent the ink from fading.
